Things are about to get messy.

The world of Disserei has gotten a little too small for all its inhabitants to coexist peacefully. The tentative treaty between the five clans has all but dissolved, and tensions are rising as the chaos of war approaches.

Unition is a deckbuilding battle royale. You’ll need to decide what cards are available to you, and if you’ll have the firepower to eliminate everyone else— or the time to race for points before the war is over.

Each of the five clans has a specialty and synergizes within its own ranks, but grabbing cards from other clans might further your goals as well. Will you specialize, or diversify?

Build your deck with heroes and strongholds, forge alliances and rivalries at the table, and lead your kingdom to victory.

In Unition, players have two possible ways to win. Use whomp to reduce all other player's health tokens to zero and be the last one standing, or earn enough cool tokens to instantly end the game and declare victory.

Each player begins with a set of starter cards which will give small amounts of whomp or cool, as well as a currency called gleam. Players use gleam to recruit stronger clan cards of heroes and strongholds to shuffle into their decks. Each of the five clans has a strength and specialty and will aid players in different ways.

Playing two of the same clan in a single hand will give a player extra bonuses and abilities. Playing one of each clan in a single hand will give an extra bonus turn.

Each player’s overall health and point accrual are represented by tokens. These tokens are kept hidden behind individual player screens, so no one ever knows exactly where their opponents stand.

Social dynamics play an important role as players attempt to forge alliances to eliminating others, or redirect unwanted attention as they build their victory points. While there's two ways to win, only one person can be the victor.

Still want more? Here’s a much more in-depth explanation.

Not much is known about the Endurite—not even what they are. They seem to be a mix of stone and metal, and rumors say they increase their ranks by chiseling new members out of the rock of the Aureate Highlands. Whatever they are, they’re known for their fierce loyalty and sense of honor, protecting those in their charge, even at the risk of their own destruction. Endurite heroes and strongholds will give you the ability to shield yourself from attacks—useful for both war and peace. They also have a limited ability to gain both whomp and cool, and as well as the power to upgrade your cards.

The terrain of Disserei is varied. The disparate landscapes are home to five separate clans that each have their own society and specialty. Successful players will learn the best way to utilize these clans' skills in any given situation.

Nothing compares to the raw power of the Stompede. Moving as a herd across the Blistered Plains, the Stompede are known for their unquenchable thirst for destruction. It is said that the plains were once a land of plateaus and rock formations before the Stompede ground it to dust, and considering that they grow massively in size as they age, this is not unlikely. Stompede heroes and strongholds will secure you tons of whomp and means to decimate your foes. They also have a limited ability to cull your deck of unwanted cards or draw more into your hand.

The Verdenation spend their days in peaceful recreation. They harvest crops, nurture their young ones’ growth, sing and dance, and create sculptures of stone and wood. The Arboreal Grotto is their home, and when threatened, they prefer to hide. Their society is self-sustaining and grows quickly, making them an excellent addition to your kingdom if you want to remain peaceful. Verdenation heroes and strongholds excel at amassing cool, and have some small ability to defend themselves as well as draw more cards.

The Gloop are an interconnected organism that breed uncontrollably in the fecund Stickmuck Mire. They operate as a collective, splitting off pieces of themselves when needed, or amassing as a larger creature for heavier tasks. If you’re looking to add more cards to your hand each round, Gloop heroes and strongholds will let you draw additional cards when played. They also have a small amount of cool generation and can consume cards to lean out your deck.

If the Endurite are mysterious, even less is known about the Bruud. Shifting and stealing in the Inkwater Chasm deep below the surface, the Bruud bide their time by mining and perfecting their efficiency in all ways. They are known to exile their own kind if it means a better functioning of their society, and their methods are cold, calculating, and efficient. Bruud heroes and strongholds will allow you to consume weaker cards from your hand to make a stronger deck overall, and have some degree of both attack and defense.
